Just an observation and not a criticism (far from it!). In Fidus 4.0, I’ve noticed that whatever browser I use, I need to clear the browser cache far more frequently in order to use cut-and-paste or add a Zotero citation to a footnote. If I don’t, these no longer work.
More frequently than with previous releases? Is it when new versions are released or even when there is no update?
In general, users should never be required to clean cashes. New versions should be bstalled in the browser automatically. However, it can take some minutes until a new version has been downloaded into the browser. If you have FW open in multiple tabs, it should wait updating until all but one tabs have been closed. This is a default functionality in browsers.
I will check to see if the issue still persists, but when I originally posted this I noticed that after a few minutes of cutting and pasting material, and/or uploading zoterio references, these actions became impossible unless I manually cleared the cache.
